Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the official notification for the post of RBI Grade B Officer Exam on the employment news to recruit 322 posts of Officers. The online application for RBI Grade B 2021 has started on 28th January 2021 and the closing date for the same is 15th February 2021.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the total number of vacancies for RBI Grade B 2021 exam along with its Official Notification. This year, RBI introduced 322 vacancies. Last year, the total number of vacancies was 199. Let’s have a look at the vacancy for RBI Grade B 2020 Exam.

RBI Grade B Salary 2021
All the Officers selected through RBI Grade B 2021 Exam will be given the annual salary of 12-14 Lac. Along with this CTC comes numerous emoluments and perks. The Pay Scale for the RBI grade B Officer is Rs. 35150-1750(9)-50900-EB-1750(2)-54400-2000(4)-62400. This means that you will be having basic pay of Rs. 35,150/- in which you will get an increment of Rs. 1,750/- up till nine years of your service. After the completion of nine years you will get into the executive band wherein the basic pay will be of Rs. 50,900/- and then again for the next two years you will get an increment of Rs. 1,750/- and further an increment of rs. 2000/- for the following 2 years thus ending up with the basic pay of Rs. 62,400/- and this is when you don’t get any promotion. Apart from the Basic Pay, multiple emoluments such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, Telephone Allowance, Conveyance Allowance etc. will also be provided.

RBI Grade B 2021 Application Fees

A total of Rs. 850/- is the application fee to be paid by candidates belonging to General and OBC category for RBI Grade B 2021 exam. The same amount is reduced to Rs. 100/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category.

RBI Grade B 2021 Exam Pattern

RBI Grade B 2021 Exam is conducted in three phases:

  • Phase-I exam
  • phase-II exam and
  • interview process
Candidates are required to clear all the three phases in order to get a confirmed post as a Grade B Officer in Reserve Bank of India. RBI Grade B Exam Pattern for Prelims Exam The prelims exam of RBI Grade-B Officer 2021 comprise a single Paper for 200 marks and will be conducted online on March 6, 2021. A total time of 120 minutes will be given for answering. However, separate time will be allotted for each test.

RBI Grade B Officer Interview Process Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview, based on aggregate marks obtained in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III of Phase II exam. Interview Process will carry 50 marks.

RBI Grade B 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are required to follow the given criteria to be eligible for RBI Grade B 2021 Exam:

RBI Grade B Citizenship & Nationality

  • • Must be a citizen of India
  • • Must be a subject of Nepal
  • • Must be a subject of Bhutan
  • • Must be a Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 who has the intention of settling permanently in India.
  • • A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
RBI Grade B Age Limit (As on 1st of January 2021): RBI has defined minimum age criteria for appearing in the RBI Officer (Grade ‘B’) examination. Candidates are required to be aged between 21 years and 30 years (both age included) to apply for RBI Grade B exam 2021. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 2nd January 1991 and not later than 1st January 2000. For candidates possessing M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualification, upper age limit will be 32 and 34 years respectively. RBI Grade B Age Relaxation: Candidates, who belong to the reserved category will be provided relaxation in their upper age as per the rules decided by the Board.

RBI Grade-B Educational Qualification:

Posts Minimum Educational Qualifications
1. Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – (General) • Graduation in any discipline /Equivalent technical or professional qualification with minimum 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) or Post-Graduation / Equivalent technical qualification with minimum 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters / years. Note: • Any such full-time course from a recognised University / Institute that is taken after Class XIIth and is at least of 3 years’ duration/ candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications which are recognised by the Government as equivalent to professional and technical graduation will be eligible for admission to the examination. • Candidates who have passed the Final Examination for Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India may also apply for the post. OR • Any such full-time course from a recognised University / Institute that is taken after graduation and is at least of 2 years’ duration / recognised by the Government as equivalent to post graduation will be eligible for admission to the examination.
2. Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DEPR • Essential: a. A Master’s Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute. OR b. PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute. OR c. Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business/ developmental/ applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute d. (i) Candidates having Master’s Degree with Research/Teaching experience at a recognized Indian/Foreign University/ Institute will be eligible for relaxation in upper age limit to the extent of number of years of such experience subject to a maximum of three years. For experience, probationary period will not be reckoned.
3. Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DSIM Essential: a. A Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years. OR b. Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an Institute of repute. OR c. M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters / years. OR d. Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.

RBI Grade B 2021 Admit Card

The RBI Grade B Admit Card 2021 will be released separately for both Phase-I and Phase-II exam. The admit card for Phase-II Exam will be issued to candidates who have qualified the Phase-I exam of RBI Grade B.

RBI Grade B 2021 Exam Results

The results for RBI Grade B 2021 Exam will be released after the completion of each phase of the exam. A candidate is required to qualify both Phase-I and Phase-II exam to get a chance to sit for the interview process. The merit list is prepared in the descending order of the marks obtained by candidates after the interview process is complete. The final selection is based on how well you do in your interview.

RBI Grade B Exam Cut Off

The cut off for RBI Grade B 2021 Exam will be released after each phase of examination is completed. The cut-off for the Phase-I exam will be released first followed by cut off for Phase-II exam.
